Virgo as your Moon sign
A Virgo Moon analyses feelings to understand them, finding calm in order and usefulness, and worry when things are out of place.

Virgo rising
A Virgo ascendant gives a neat, modest and observant presence, often younger-looking than their years.
Vedic astrology reads the Moon sign and the ascendant before the Sun sign. Both depend on the exact time and place of birth — NAMOH works them out from yours.

The nakshatras of Virgo
Thirty degrees, nine padas. Where your Moon falls along this span decides which nakshatra colours your Virgo Moon — and which planet's dasha your life begins in.
Lordship
Mercury, lord of Virgo
Virgo takes its colour from Mercury (Budha). Wherever Mercury sits in your chart shows where the affairs of your Virgo house are carried out.

Questions
Virgo, briefly answered
Who rules Virgo in Vedic astrology?
Virgo (Kanya) is ruled by Mercury (Budha). It is a feminine, dual earth sign.
What are the Virgo dates in Vedic astrology?
In the sidereal zodiac used in Vedic astrology, the Sun passes through Virgo from about 17 Sep – 17 Oct, give or take a day each year. Vedic astrology gives more weight to the Moon sign and the ascendant than to the Sun sign, and those depend on the exact time and place of birth.
Which nakshatras fall in Virgo?
Uttara Phalguni (3 padas), Hasta and Chitra (2 padas). Together they make up Virgo's thirty degrees, nine padas in all.
Which planets are strong or weak in Virgo?
Mercury is exalted in Virgo and Venus is debilitated in Virgo. Exaltation lets a planet give its best results; debilitation asks more of it.
